Présentation

These people are Russian, but they are not Russian. There are four million of them but we don’t talk about them much. They speak different languages but they are united by a simple wisdom, sometimes a cruel one, and by their closeness to the land, as if they came from it - like rocks and trees. They are pagans - or, having converted to Christianity or Islam, they are still pagans without even noticing. They are Finno-Ugric and live in another world, a few hundred kilometers from Moscow.
